another one

Here's to a year filled with change, gratitude, graduation (yay!), lots of laughs, motivation and possibly more blogging. But don't count on it.

Happy 2013!

One Year

A few weeks ago, we celebrated being married for ONE WHOLE YEAR. Can you believe it? We made it! Phew. We took a trip up to Park City and it was wonderful. We kicked ourselves for not making it up there in the Summer more often. Park City is gorgeous in the Summer time! Anyway, now I will photo bomb you because I'm not feeling this writing stuff.

We were greeted with a welcome note, chocolate covered strawberries, sparkling pear juice and herbal tea. They know how to cater their Mormon guests at Stein Eriksen.

I was infatuated with these mini condiments!

Mike and his farmer's tan having a swim.

Lunch time.

Post Alpine Slide.
We stayed at the Hyatt in Salt Lake on Saturday night.

Took a walk around Gateway and it happened to be the chalk art festival.

"Our church" on Sunday. We took a tour of the Conference Center and realized we take this building for granted.

We ended the weekend by walking around the place where we were married. Gush alert: I cherish our marriage above anything else. I feel so grateful to have the relationship that we have and to come home feeling so safe and loved everyday. If this year was "the hardest" then I'm definitely looking forward to what is to come.

Product reviews from a junkie

Err...you know what I mean. I'm technically a licensed professional so I can give my opinion about these things, right? Being the product junkie that I am, I might was well put my thoughts out there so that someone can benefit from my obsession! I'm going to share my thoughts on 3 products I've recently tried and liked.

The first product is Tigi Rockaholic Fun Times Flexible Hairspray.

Quite the name, I know. I haven't been the biggest fan of Tigi products in the past. i.e. shampoos that leave a film on my hair & products that don't do what they say they do. BUT I love this hairspray. I usually go for the "extreme, super hold" kind of hairsprays because my hair is so fine that it never stays put. After hearing someone say they were impressed with this hairspray I decided to give it a go. Ever since I colored my hair ombre style, I curl my hair at least 2 or 3 times a week. I just like the way it looks curled better than when it's straight. Why wasn't I born with SOME kind of natural wave? Anyway, I spray this on my hair before I curl it and my curl stays and isn't crunchy. WALLAH! Magic. Plus, like all other Tigi products, it smells like candy. Bonus.

The second product comes from my number 1 skin care line of choice: Image Skincare.

Image launched a new product line called I-Conceal this year. It's a mineral based foundation filled with love. And by that I mean a whole lot of geeky skincare ingredients that make me so happy.
Here are some of the ingredients and what they do for your skin:

  • Zinc Oxide 8.2% and Titanium Dioxide 6.5% provide the UVA / UVB protection and anti-inflammatory propertiesPlant Stem Cell Culture stimulates regeneration
  • BOIS II reduces Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL) which is the key to keeping skin hydrated
  • Zinc PCA prevents shininess by helping to regulate sebum (Skin “oil”) production
  • Biodynes TRF promotes healing by boosting cells’ oxygen uptake while it increases hyaluronic acid and collagen production, calming and soothing the skin.
I put this on, dust a layer of my Jane Iredale Mineral powder over top and I'm good to go.

Lastly, I'm going to tell you about my experience with Latisse.
I started using Latisse in November because my work decided to be nice and give us free boxes to try so we could tell people about it. So I started using it. And...nothing. For what felt like forever! But one glorious day my dad said to me, "Liz, uh I think your false eye lashes are falling off. Here, have Mom help you with that." Excuse me? I'm not wearing false lashes. (What the, weird?) But that's when I realized my lashes were looking so very long. Ever since then I get comments on them frequently. This stuff really does work. Being that I already had fairly long lashes, unless I came across millions of dollars, I probably wouldn't bother purchasing it. It's around $100 a box that lasts approximately 3 months. On the other hand, if you've always hated how short or sparse your lashes are, I highly recommend it.
